YOUNGEUN KIM
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, CA LMFT 126294

I’m YoungEun Kim, also known as Jade. I'm a Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in California (LMFT#126294). I specialize in working with adults who are ready to explore their inner world more deeply. My work is grounded in the belief that healing happens when we truly become our whole selves—not by ignoring, fragmenting, or abandoning parts of who we are. These parts include our culture, our history, our families, our bodies, our emotions, and our thoughts. All of it belongs.
I was born and raised in Korea and have lived, studied, and worked in both Korea and the United States. I’ve earned degrees from universities in both countries and attended graduate programs in each. I’ve worked professionally across cultures and experienced the journey of parenthood in both Korea and the U.S. Living between cultural contexts has given me a front-row seat to both the beauty and the complexity of navigating multiple worlds.
Because of this, I have a deep respect for the emotional lives of people who carry multiple identities, languages, and expectations. I understand the emotional complexity of being a bridge between generations and cultures. These tensions often shape our relationships, our sense of self, and our internal conflicts in ways that aren’t always easy to explain.
In therapy, I bring both a Western psychological lens and a deep appreciation for Eastern approaches to healing. I’m drawn to ways of working that see the person as a whole, where mind, body, biology, and lived experience are interconnected. This perspective helps me work with clients in a way that feels grounded, intuitive, and responsive to the full context of their lives.
Outside of therapy, I’m a lifelong learner. My curiosity draws me toward topics like psychology, trauma, history, linguistics, biology, and culture. I’m especially interested in how we become more fully ourselves, not by trying harder, but by understanding what we’ve been carrying and how it has shaped us.
